Vacancy Description

Are you an expert in your industry?

The Institute for Apprenticeships launched on 1 April 2017 as an employer-led body ensuring high-quality apprenticeship standards and assessment plans in England. It is expected that from April 2018, this remit will expand to include responsibility for technical education.

We’re looking for committed, enthusiastic experts from across the fifteen occupational routes to join our Route Panels in the Institute. Route Panel Members will form prestigious employer-led groups, helping to ensure the quality of apprenticeships.

These roles support the Institute’s commitment to be led by employers in the development and approval of apprenticeship standards and assessment plans. We are establishing 15 Route Panels representing the 15 occupational routes that were set out in the Sainsbury Report. In future we anticipate this will also include reviewing the new technical qualifications that will sit at the heart of new T-Levels.

These panels will play an invaluable part in making the quality of England’s apprenticeships world class; creating a talent pipeline that delivers the skills employers need now and in future. In taking up this role, you will be contributing to the development of the apprenticeship programme and making an important investment in building the capability of your sector.

Person Specification

To apply, you should have demonstrable expertise, leadership and credibility in one or more sectors of an occupational route. We’re looking for people who can demonstrate sound judgement when dealing with complex situations, who are themselves open to challenge and who have experience of operating within a panel structure to arrive at balanced and timely decisions.

Additional Information

The Institute operates a Guaranteed Interview Scheme for people with disabilities who meet the essential published criteria.

The Institute is committed to being an equal opportunities employer. We value and welcome diversity.

All reasonable expenses will be reimbursed.
